Candy Drop Carnival

Happy Monday friends! Last Monday Jared and I caught a bit of a cold, which ended up being strange since none of our kids ever caught it. Usually it's the kids bringing the colds home to us. I'm feeling pretty well back to normal today and I'm ready to start packing up our first boxes for our upcoming move! It feels a bit like Groundhog Day to be packing up boxes when I only just finished unpacking from our last move . . . but I have no regrets. We were gearing up to be in our rental for another year and I wanted to feel as settled as possible during that time. We've got a very busy day ahead of us (Alice's first music class at a neighbor's home), so let's get to the pictures:

^^I need to enjoy the sunrises from our balcony more often. They are majestic every time.

^^Jack got some new shoes, and when I gave them to him they perfectly matched his outfit. He was very happy about this.
^^On Saturday we visited my Grandma's building for a car show, carnival, and candy drop. This was a hit with the kids! A helicopter swooped in and dropped hundreds of parachutes holding full-sized candy bars tied on by the residents, including my grandma. It did feel a bit like a war zone. As the candy bars fell to the ground, the helicopter kicked up a huge cloud of dust. As all the adults squeezed our eyes shut, the kids made a break for the drop zone and reemerged clutching their parachuted candy bars.

^^I left my phone in the car so I didn't get a picture with my grandmother, but Jared found his great-uncle Neal who also lives in the building, and got a picture with him. This is actually Jared's grandpa's cousin, who knows my grandma well too. Always fun to chat with both of them.
