Mama's tired. For some reason I've been stuck in a thick brain fog all weekend. I'm still fresh enough in my POTS diagnosis that I don't always know what the culprit is. I have suspected for some time now that there may be some food triggers at play, and I did eat lots of processed treats over the weekend--something I've tried to stay away from for the past few months because it tends to flare up the fatigue/brain fog. I also wasn't on top of my electrolytes as much as I usually am, because there were lots of back-to-back events. That did make for a fun weekend though, so since my brain isn't so sharp right now I'll get right to the pictures:
^^Jared ran a half marathon early Saturday morning. He didn't prepare all that well for it, but he did do a couple of long runs this past month and did great.
^^Long live summer. We went to a faraway splash pad, but it was closed due to drought conditions so we pivoted to spend a few hours at a nearby reservoir.
^^Our patio is in, and so is about half of our sod! It's getting easier to envision the finished result now. I'm excited for all the memories we'll make back here.
^^Another day, another splash pad. Jack is old enough that he will sometimes opt out of the splash pad if he has a book he's really interested in. I'm shocked to have a child at an opt-out-of-splash-pad age, but big kids have big perks, too. And I'm glad he'll mostly still end up playing with Alice in the water when he gets hot enough. p.s. I don't normally wear sweats to the splash pad. This was an impromptu, unplanned stop at a splash en-route back to our house one morning.
^^More finish line fun. Go Jared!
^^Not the best shot, but a picture nonetheless at the Strawberry Days parade.
^^We caught a few more Parade homes this week. This laundry room with a block-print wallpaper and wood ceiling was one of my favorite little spaces.
^^Father's Day! Alice made Jared a tie and did a Father's Day questionnaire, Jack bought him a pack of Dad Joke cards with his allowance money, and I got him a retractable hose (just what every man wants?) for watering our new grass, plus I took the kids to visit my own dad for a few hours so Jared could pull out his oil paints. Happy Father's Day
