Hello hello! We have got an extremely busy week ahead of us. I will try and update more next week, but this week's post will be pictures with some captions--that will be a pretty good summary of the week anyway.
^^Last Tuesday for Jared's day off we decided to head into the mountains to see some fall leaves and do a hike we've been wanting to do for a while to a mountain lake. We thought the conditions were ideal and it would be long-but-not-too-long at 4.5 miles round trip. It was awful. As soon as we started hiking we were caught in a downpour. I thought we were prepared for that with coats, hat, gloves, and mittens for Alice. But she got wet nonetheless and spend much of the hike back crying from exhaustion until she fell asleep for the last 5 minutes of the hike. The scenery was still lovely though. Another item checked off our Washington list.
^^She was at least happy during much of the hike up!
^^A short family hike to our Granite Falls fish ladder/waterfall. It's salmon season and we heard they can be spotted jumping around sunset after it runs. Conditions were right, but it was still drizzly and no salmon were spotted. Plenty of lovely leaves though, and Jack took this stellar family selfie.
^^Corn maze fun! I'm regretting not going to this one. I had Jared take the kids for the day so I could get some things done around the house. They ended up having the best time at a corn maze!
