Chuckanut Scenic Byway

^^The cutest public bathroom I have ever seen.

A couple weekends ago we made the most of Washington's peak fall leaves and did a drive suggested by Jared's mom along the Chuckanut scenic byway. It was HIGHLY CUTE. The drive hugs the coastline between Burlington and Bellingham, WA. It winds in and out of huge trees with peeks of the ocean and San Juan Islands off on one side, and a big wall of mountains on the other side. We stopped at a cute state park along the way to check out a beach and get some wiggles out.

^^I don't know what's going on for Jared here but I thought this was a funny picture.
^^Reading about Oyster Harvesting, I think.
^^I didn't take too many pictures while we were driving, but the 20-30 miles in and out of these trees were dotted with cute Oyster bars and amazing, moody PNW coastal homes. I'd love to come back sometime and stay in one of the hotels along the coast. After the drive was over we stopped for a burger at a Bellingham old-style drive-in called Boomer's. It had a Sonic feel, but more retro and with way better food (nothing agains Sonic). Also, great prices for this part of the country. I'm glad we've been able to sneak in plenty of leaf-peeping before winter hits. We really have no idea how many years we'll be living in Washington (which is a weird feeling since in the past all our moves have been mapped out for us down to exact months and cities). I've just been wanting to do as much exploring as possible before our family grows, and in case we move away in a couple years instead of in a lot of years. But anyway, if you ever make it to this part of the country, we'd give the Chuckanut Scenic Byway a 10/10!
